Everyone, this is Julie, best friend, mother of four under five and five underfoot. Doesn't she look lovely? Posted by Hello

One more thing...

Can someone please send a comment my way, I heard a rumour someone tried to leave one. Can someone try again? Please and thank you!

What I don't like

about blogs is they are so one sided that people and events can often be misrepresented. Case in point is this post about Julia's husband Steve. http://julia.typepad.com/julia/
I've been reading her blog and knew very little about him other than he played ulti. Most of the folks who comment on Julia's site agree with her when Steve does something wrong and they're probably not far off with their support. The thing is she loves him and she posted a lovely list of reasons for feeling this way. What gets me is that a bunch of people came back and said that maybe he wasn't such an asshat in the first place if he had all these good qualities. I say "Hello" how can you judge someone when you're only ever getting one side of the story? Julia: I love your stories about Patrick and Steve, I'm sorry that he left you alone to go through a tough time by yourself. I mean no disrespect;I just wouldn't want to hear anyone say nasty things about my husband based only on my own rantings. Ranting done.

These are exciting times

I haven't been this excited about something since we got that new walk-in fridge at the restaurant. I wasn't even this excited about going to Finland. Ideas about things to write about kept me awake last night until the wee hours. I hope it keeps up.
Things I'll write about later:
  • "Amazing Race" version of our trip to Finland
  • How business is going, why it's bad
  • Who, what, where, when, how of infertility(ours)
  • What I'm learning from other blogs

Zac will get a sibling..

But it won't be from me. We just found out that D.H.'s ex is pregnant, due in April. Oh how happy I am for her. Snark.

I'm jealous of most pregnant women, why won't my body work the way I expect it too?

I want to whine

Wow, the only thing that comes to mind right now is pure, unadulterated whining. I've got the place to myself so why not turn it on and let it rip? I'm taking inspiration from the landscapers outside. Boy, I wish the guy with the weed whacker would go the *%^$# away.

This is not my beautiful wife....

The Talking Heads song goes round and round in my head as I set this up....."How did I get here? This is not my beautiful wife, this is not my beautiful house........And the days go by...."

That's how I feel these days. Lost, confused.

I've kept a journal since I was eighteen and, basically, there was a hull breach Captain. One day I was at work and my husband to be called me at work to tell me that he'd read it and didn't like what I had to say. I haven't been able to write in it since.
I've been following other people's blogs for sometime and he sees me reading them and doesn't understand why I find them interesting. I haven't explained it to him because, I think, maybe I can keep this from him in the interest of having something solely for me.
So this is what it will be for me. A place of privacy, honesty, bold statements of displeasure. It will take the place of my paper journal and also be a connection for friends. Welcome.
